The Altera® video and image processing example design demonstrates up conversion from a standard definition (SD) video stream in national television system committee (NTSC) format and picture-in-picture mixing with a background layer.
The video stream is output in a high definition resolution (1024×768) over a digital video interface (DVI).
The example design demonstrates a framework for rapid development of video and image processing systems using the following parameterizable MegaCore® functions that are available in the Altera Video and Image Processing Suite:
- Clocked Video Input
- Clocked Video Output
- Frame Buffer
- Color Plane Sequencer
- Clipper
- Color Space Converter
- Gamma Corrector
- Chroma Resampler
- Deinterlacer
- Alpha Blending Mixer
- 2D FIR Filter
- 2D Median Filter
- Scaler
- Line Buffer Compiler
For more information about these MegaCore functions, refer to the Video and Image Processing Suite User Guide (PDF).
