Altera subscription program members receive:
- The latest version of Quartus II design software, including the SOPC Builder automated system development tool
- The Model Technology™ ModelSim®-Altera tool for VHDL or Verilog HDL simulation
- Access to the MegaCore® intellectual property (IP) library, allowing simulation and hardware evaluation of the entire library including the Nios® II embedded processor
- A full license to the IP Base Suite of 11 MegaCore functions including finite impulse response (FIR) and numerically controlled oscillator (NCO) compilers, and DDR, DDR2, and QDR II memory controller cores
- All software updates for 12 months

Renewal Subscriptions
Altera subscriptions include one year of software updates. After that first year, the Altera software continues to work but you will not be able to install new updates. The ModelSim-Altera software will stop working after 15 months. You can purchase renewal subscriptions, which extend updates for an additional 12 months and provide another 15 months of ModelSim-Altera operation.
Flexible Licensing Models for PC, UNIX, and Linux Operating Systems
Subscriptions are available in flexible licensing models to support stand-alone PCs or networks including mixtures of PC, UNIX, and Linux clients. The information in Table 1 will help you select the product that best fits into your design environment.

Notes:
- With version 8.0 and later, FIXEDPC no longer includes/supports USB dongles. Licenses are tied to a NIC (Network Interface Card) or similar.
- FLOATALL product license servers can be UNIX, Linux, or Windows based. Any client on the network can access the software. The maximum number of users that can access the software at any one time is equal to the number of seats purchased.
- Support for additional PC, Linux, or UNIX clients can be added to an existing FLOATPC, FLOATLNX, or FLOATNET license server by adding one or more ADD-FLOATALL licenses.
