Easy-to-Use Design Software for MAX 7000 Designs

The Quartus® II Web Edition and MAX+PLUS® II BASELINE design software provide no-cost software support for MAX® 7000 CPLDs. Both tools offer an easy-to-use and comprehensive design environment for system-on-a-programmable-chip (SOPC) solutions with synthesis, place-and-route, design verification and simulation, and device programming capabilities. The two software platforms also offer seamless integration with third-party synthesis and simulation tools.

Table 1 lists the features supported by the Quartus II and MAX+PLUS II software.

Table 1. Quartus II & MAX+PLUS II Software Features
Design Method Supported Features
Design Entry
  • Schematic entry
  • Text entry
    • Verilog
    • VHDL
    • AHDL
Synthesis
  • Integrated register transfer level (RTL) synthesis
  • Support for third-party synthesis flows
Place-and-Route
  • PowerFit technology in the Quartus II software
  • Physical re-synthesis algorithms in the MAX+PLUS II software
