Flexible-LVDS Support
In addition to the 36 input and 36 output True-LVDS™ channels, APEX II devices feature up to 88 input and 88 output Flexible-LVDS™ channels. The Flexible-LVDS feature supports data transfer rates up to 624 Mbps, resulting in up to 110 Gbps of additional differential bandwidth. The high-performance core of APEX II devices can be used in conjunction with embedded differential I/O buffers to achieve these high data rates.
Differential I/O Support
Additionally, Flexible-LVDS channels support other popular differential I/O standards, including LVPECL and HyperTransport. With up to 12 independent Flexible-LVDS clock domains per device, APEX II devices are capable of remarkable performance and flexibility, enabling cutting-edge networking and communications applications.
Unparalleled LVDS Bandwidth
Flexible-LVDS support, when combined with True-LVDS support, permits up to 182 Gbps of total LVDS bandwidth in a single APEX II device. Table 1 summarizes total LVDS support in APEX II devices.
