Altera University Program Overview

Why Altera?

The goals of Altera's University Program are to help professors, instructors, and students successfully use Altera's programmable logic devices (FPGAs and CPLDs) and to provide the best educational experience possible.

Altera's University Program offers:

  • Free leading-edge software tools, such as the Quartus® II software design tools
  • High-quality development and education boards at low cost
  • Ready-to-teach laboratory exercises and tutorials for digital logic and computer organization courses
  • Free devices—such as Cyclone®  II FPGAs—for undergraduate and research projects
  • Free Altera® intellectual property (IP) cores—such as digital filters and PCI cores—for use in research projects
  • Training for professors and instructors
